During the month of March alot of things seemed to start warming up. It seemed like the winter just stopped, without the normal death throws, and late storms. We didn't even get the rains that so often follow right behind the cold weather which allowed all the white stuff we'd piled high in every corner we could find to melt off in a nice orderly way. No muss no floods .... really a nice way to start spring. Real estate too enjoyed a bit of upturn as well. This time of year we'd expect things to start getting busy, but with everything that's happening in the world economy it's not possible to predict. All we can do is react. An this month we're reacting to what looks like a stabilizing of the market. In the graph below you'll see that our total sales for the month of March (57) is about the same as last year. Certainly down from '07 and '06 but if we can track the same as last year I would be very happy. |

More significant to me is the number of homes offered for sale. In March we saw an increase of 10 homes over the total for February ~ which translates into More properties going off the market than coming on. Is it a blip or a change ??? We won't know for a couple months but it's very encouraging to see. We have a new mls data provider starting in mid March, so I don't have great information about market specifics .. hoping to have more in a few weeks. Special Note: This week I'm bringing Mike O'Grady, registered Home Inspector to ChomzTV .... to help people understand the home inspection process for both buyers and sellers. When I list a property for sale I have Mike so a pre-sale inspection to identify any issues that may come up during negotiations. It's been a great tool for sellers. Catch Mikes Next Installment Here As always .. if there are any questions just let me know. And feel free to forward this to anyone you think me be interested. |
